Saline County Fire Station

The Kansas Department of Commerce (Commerce) has awarded a $299,800 KAN STEP grant to Saline County to construct a new fire station north of Hedville five miles west of Salina. The fire station has an estimated market value of $534,932. KAN STEP is an acronym for Kansas Small Town Environment Program. KAN STEP successfully uses "sweat equity" to help communities reduce costs of water system improvements and now, fire stations and community centers. Kansas Rural Water Association provides Inspection Services and Assistance to the KAN STEP program. KRWA staff who will work on this project are Shane Holthaus and Pete Koenig.
